Bayern clinch sixth Champions league

Bayern Munich clinched its sixth European crown after beating Paris Saint Geramain 1-0 in a thrilling champions league final Sunday at  Estadio da Luz, Lisbon on Sunday.  Victory for the German champions secures a lucrative treble after it also won the domestic league and domestic cup earlier this year.

In front of  just a few hundred people, including the coronavirus-checked players and officials,it was Paris born Kingsley Coman who scored the only goal of the match as the Bavarians won the elite European competition after seven years.

After a feisty first half involving shots off the woodwork for Robert Levandowski and two saves from Manuel Neuer against Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, Coman scored the only goal of the night when he glanced home a cross from Joshua Kimmich in the 59th minute.

With this win Bayern are the first side in champions league history to win 100 percent of their games(11 wins) in a single campaign enroute to lifting the trophy. It was yet more disappointment for PSG which was playing in its first final. The French champions, which was also bidding for a tremble, has become obsessed with winning the champions league since Qatar sports investments bought the parisian club in 2011.

Striker Lewandoswki had one of the greatest individual seasons in this competition’s history but failed to get two goals needed to match Cristiano Ronaldo’s record haul of 17 goals in a single campaign.
