The 2019 National Basketball League comes to an end

Basketball diehards and fans were treated to an action packed fun filled epic experience of the last match of the 2019 NBL season finals. The finals had the 2 two best teams of the league, Uganda Christian University and the 6th time defending champions City Oilers.
The battle had a best of 7 series, with both teams struggling to scoop the National Basketball League championship title, after the series were tied 3-3 thus enforcing game 7 last Sunday evening on the 19th at the Lugogo MTN Arena.
The final game was graced with the presence of various basketball pioneers and fans shouting in praise and encouragement in support of their favorite player or team.
City Oilers star player, Landry Ndikumana, being the highest scorer of the night and biggest threat to UCU single handedly had 26 points and 11 rebounds together with former captain, Jimmy Enabu, and current captain, James Okello, altogether making a greater match.
However a few of their players, obtained minor injuries throughout the struggle to make it to the finals, Francis Azolibe, Stephen Omony & Jonathan Egau.
On the other hand, UCUs star players David Deng Kongor,,Titus Lual and Baale Fayed did their best in securing the team victory but City Oilers had the upper hand with a 15 point lead by the time the last whistle was blown.
In the end, the City Oilers were crowned for the 7th time as the champions for the National Basketball League 2019 season with a 72-57 win.
Speaking to a few UCU diehards, they commented that UCU had pulled off a great show throughout the entire season, having been able to matchup with the 6th time champions till game 7 yet they are so young compared to the City Oilers, coming second has been a huge accomplishment for the Uganda Christian University due to the level of facilitation as compared to City Oilers and other teams in the league.
